Sheets
The Sheets & Maps pane is a canvas where you place your uploaded floor-plan drawings — and, optionally, a site map — to lay out the building level by level. The floor plans you place here are the backdrop you trace spaces onto in the Spaces pane.
Placing Sheets

Section titled “The Sheets List”Every uploaded sheet appears in the Sheets list in the sidebar. Only scaled, floor-plan-type sheets can be placed on the canvas — if a sheet isn’t a floor plan, change its sheet type first.
Add a floor plan to the canvas in either of two ways:
- Drag the sheet from the list onto the canvas, or
- Click Place On Canvas on the sheet
Use Remove from Canvas to take a placed sheet back off. A sheet’s scale is calibrated when you upload it — see Sheet Library for scale calibration.
Navigation
Section titled “Navigation”Move around the canvas with:
- Pan - click and drag the canvas
- Zoom - scroll wheel, or the zoom buttons in the toolbar
- Center Viewport - the home button in the toolbar recenters the view
View Options
Section titled “View Options”The View button in the toolbar toggles Annotations on the canvas. Use Add Sheet Marker and Add Annotation in the toolbar to mark up the drawing.
Adjusting a Placed Sheet
Section titled “Adjusting a Placed Sheet”Right-click a sheet on the canvas for its menu:
- Crop - trim the visible area of the sheet
- Rotate 90° CW / Rotate 90° CCW - rotate the placed sheet to align it
- Remove - take the sheet off the canvas
Plan Rotation
Section titled “Plan Rotation”The Plan Rotation dial in the toolbar sets the building’s orientation relative to north. Wall and roof azimuths are measured from this bearing, so plan rotation — not sheet rotation — is what drives solar gains and cardinal-direction references in the load calculations.
Multi-Floor Buildings
Section titled “Multi-Floor Buildings”Sheets are placed per level. Use the level controls in the toolbar to move between floors:
- The Go to Level arrows step down or up a level
- The level button opens a Select Level menu to jump to a specific floor
Place each floor’s plan on its own level so that spaces, zones, and the 3D model stack correctly.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Verify scale first - check scale accuracy before drawing spaces
- Set plan rotation - orient the building to north so solar calculations are correct
- Place one plan per level - keep floors aligned for multi-story buildings
- Center the view - use the home button to recenter when you lose your place
