IAQP Report

The IAQP (Indoor Air Quality Procedure) report documents your project’s compliance with ASHRAE Standard 62.1 ventilation requirements.

The IAQP report provides:

  • Ventilation calculations for each zone
  • System-level outdoor air requirements
  • Compliance documentation
  • Design basis for ventilation

The report shows:

FieldDescription
Zone NameZone identifier
Area (Az)Zone floor area
Occupancy (Pz)Design occupancy
RpOutdoor air per person
RaOutdoor air per area
VbzBreathing zone OA
EzZone air distribution effectiveness
VozZone outdoor air

For each zone:

Vbz = Rp × Pz + Ra × Az
Voz = Vbz / Ez

The report includes:

FieldDescription
System NameSystem identifier
Total VozSum of zone OA
EvSystem ventilation efficiency
VotSystem outdoor airflow
PsSystem outdoor air ratio

For multi-zone systems:

Ev = 1 + Xs - Zd
Vot = Σ(Voz) / Ev

ASHRAE 62.1 rates used:

Space TypeRp (CFM/person)Ra (CFM/ft²)

Per ASHRAE 62.1 Table 6.5:

  • Restrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Laboratories
  • Locker rooms

For each exhaust space:

  • Required exhaust rate
  • Exhaust fan assignment
  • Transfer air allowance

For each system:

  • Minimum OA percentage
  • Design OA percentage
  • Compliance status

For each zone:

  • Required OA (Voz)
  • Delivered OA
  • Pass/Fail status

Professional IAQP document:

  • Cover page with project info
  • Zone calculations table
  • System calculations
  • Compliance summary

For code compliance:

  • Signed by engineer
  • Includes all calculations
  • Code references

Review the IAQP for:

  1. Correct space types

    • Appropriate ventilation rates
    • Accurate occupancy
  2. Zone effectiveness

    • Ez values match delivery method
    • Appropriate for system type
  3. System efficiency

    • Ev calculated correctly
    • Critical zone identified
  4. Exhaust balance

    • Adequate make-up air
    • Transfer air documented
