HVAKR is organized into sections that follow the natural HVAC design workflow.
Project Structure
Section titled “Project Structure”Each project contains the following sections, accessible from the left sidebar:
Basis of Design
Section titled “Basis of Design”Configure project-wide settings that affect calculations:
- General - Project information and metadata
- Weather - Design conditions and weather station
- Building - Envelope properties (walls, windows, roof, slab)
- Space Types - Occupancy, equipment, and lighting loads
- System Types - HVAC system configurations
- Sheet Library - Floor plan uploads and management
Building Model
Section titled “Building Model”Define the physical building:
- Sheets - View and navigate floor plans
- Spaces - Draw and configure spaces
- Envelope - Assign walls, windows, and other envelope elements
- Zones - Group spaces into thermal zones
- Systems - Create and configure HVAC systems
System Design
Section titled “System Design”Design the HVAC systems:
- Configuration - Central and terminal unit settings
- Air Balancing - Airflow distribution and balancing
- Layout - Duct routing and sizing
- Selections - Equipment selection from catalogs
Reports
Section titled “Reports”View and export calculations:
- Loads Summary - Cooling and heating load results
- Equipment Schedule - Selected equipment list
- Duct Schedule - Ductwork sizing and specifications
- IAQP - Indoor Air Quality Procedure report
- PDFs - Export professional reports
Toolbar
Section titled “Toolbar”The top toolbar provides quick access to common actions:
- Save - Manually save (auto-save is enabled)
- Undo/Redo - Reverse or repeat recent actions
- View - Switch between 2D and 3D views
- Settings - Project settings and preferences
- Share - Share project with collaborators
- Help - Access help resources
Keyboard Shortcuts
Section titled “Keyboard Shortcuts”Common keyboard shortcuts:

Sheet Navigation
Section titled “Sheet Navigation”When working with floor plans:
- Pan - Click and drag, or hold Space and drag
- Zoom - Scroll wheel, or use +/- buttons
- Fit to View - Press
For click the fit button - Sheet Selection - Use the dropdown to switch between sheets
Real-Time Collaboration
Section titled “Real-Time Collaboration”When multiple users are working on a project:
- Colored cursors show where others are working
- Changes sync automatically in real-time
- A presence indicator shows who’s online
