Creating Projects
HVAKR provides several ways to create new projects, from blank projects to AI-assisted creation.
Creating a New Project
Section titled “Creating a New Project”From the home screen, click New Project to open the project creation dialog.
Blank Project
Section titled “Blank Project”A blank project starts with default settings that you configure manually:
- Default weather station based on your location
- Standard wall, window, and roof types
- Empty sheet library
From Template
Section titled “From Template”Templates provide pre-configured settings for common building types:
- Residential - Single-family homes with typical residential construction
- Commercial Office - Office buildings with commercial-grade envelope
- Retail - Retail spaces with high occupancy and equipment loads
Templates include appropriate:
- Space types with typical occupancy and equipment loads
- System types for the building category
- Building envelope properties
AI-Assisted Creation
Section titled “AI-Assisted Creation”Use the AI chat to create a project by describing your building:
“Create a 10,000 sq ft office building in Chicago with 20 offices, 3 conference rooms, and a break room”
The AI will set up the project with appropriate:
- Weather data for the location
- Space types based on usage
- Initial system configuration
Project Organization
Section titled “Project Organization”Folders
Section titled “Folders”Organize projects into folders on the home screen:
- Click New Folder
- Enter a folder name
- Drag projects into the folder
Switch between different views on the home screen:
- Grid View - Visual cards with project thumbnails
- Table View - Sortable list with project details
- Map View - Geographic view showing project locations
Project Settings
Section titled “Project Settings”Access project settings from the gear icon in the project header:
- General - Project name, description, and cover image
- Location - Project address and weather station
- Team - Collaborators and permissions
- Sharing - Share links and access controls
Duplicating Projects
Section titled “Duplicating Projects”To create a copy of an existing project:
- Open the project
- Go to Settings > General
- Click Duplicate Project
This creates a complete copy including all spaces, systems, and configuration.
Deleting Projects
Section titled “Deleting Projects”To delete a project:
- Open the project
- Go to Settings > General
- Click Delete Project
