Sheet Library

The Sheet Library is where you upload and organize floor plan drawings. These drawings serve as the background for creating spaces and modeling your building.

  • PDF - Preferred for vector graphics and multi-page documents
  • PNG - High-quality raster images
  • JPG/JPEG - Compressed raster images
  1. Navigate to Basis of Design > Sheet Library
  2. Click Upload or drag files into the upload area
  3. Wait for processing to complete
  4. Set the scale for each uploaded sheet

When you upload a multi-page PDF, each page becomes a separate sheet. You can:

  • Rename individual sheets
  • Delete unused pages
  • Reorder sheets

Accurate scale is essential for correct area calculations and load estimates.

  1. Click Set Scale on a sheet
  2. Draw a line between two points of known distance
  3. Enter the actual distance
  4. Click Apply
  • Use dimension lines on the drawing when available
  • Measure between grid lines or column centers
  • Verify scale by checking room dimensions
  • Re-calibrate if prints were resized

After setting scale, check that:

  • Room dimensions match the drawing
  • Total building area is reasonable
  • Space areas align with specifications

Use descriptive names that identify:

  • Floor level (First Floor, Level 2, Roof)
  • Building section (Wing A, North Tower)
  • Drawing number (A1.1, A1.2)

Arrange sheets in logical order:

  • Ground floor first
  • Upper floors in sequence
  • Roof plan last

Define a crop box to focus on the relevant area:

  1. Click Crop
  2. Draw a rectangle around the area to use
  3. Content outside the crop box is hidden

Use the sheet dropdown in any view to switch between sheets.

The Sheet Library shows thumbnails of all uploaded sheets. Click a sheet to open it in full view.

Each sheet shows:

  • File name and upload date
  • Scale factor
  • Number of spaces drawn on the sheet

To update a drawing:

  1. Click the menu on the sheet
  2. Select Replace
  3. Upload the new file
  4. Verify that spaces still align with the drawing

To remove a sheet:

  1. Click the menu on the sheet
  2. Select Delete
  1. Use high-resolution images - At least 150 DPI for clear viewing
  2. Upload all relevant sheets - Include all floors and roof plans
  3. Set scale accurately - Verify against known dimensions
  4. Name sheets clearly - Use consistent naming conventions
  5. Organize before modeling - Set up sheets before drawing spaces
