AI Chat

AI Chat is a conversational assistant that helps you with HVAC design questions and project tasks.

Click the chat icon in the bottom corner to open AI Chat.

For focused interaction:

  1. Click AI in the navigation
  2. Full chat interface opens
  3. Access conversation history

Ask about HVAC concepts:

  • “What is the difference between sensible and latent load?”
  • “How does ASHRAE 62.1 calculate ventilation?”
  • “Why is my cooling load so high?”

Get help understanding calculations:

  • “Why does this space have the highest load?”
  • “Explain the peak hour for Zone 1”
  • “What’s driving the ventilation requirement?”

Get help setting up your project:

  • “How should I configure the weather for Miami?”
  • “What space type should I use for a server room?”
  • “Help me set up a VAV system”

Get help with issues:

  • “Why am I getting a validation error?”
  • “The loads seem too high, what should I check?”
  • “How do I fix missing envelope assignments?”

Type your question naturally:

  • Complete sentences work best
  • Include context when helpful
  • Be specific for better answers

Continue the conversation:

  • Ask clarifying questions
  • Request more detail
  • Explore related topics

Reference project elements:

  • “Look at Space 101”
  • “Check the VAV system”
  • “What about the west-facing zones?”

Access previous chats:

  • Listed by date
  • Searchable by content
  • Resume where you left off

Save important responses:

  • Click bookmark icon
  • Find later in bookmarks list
  • Quick reference for key info

AI may not have perfect answers:

  • Verify important information
  • Use engineering judgment
  • Consult standards directly

AI may not understand everything:

  • Very specific project details
  • Unusual configurations
  • Custom modifications

Use AI Chat for guidance, not final decisions on:

  • Code compliance
  • Safety requirements
  • Legal matters

Instead of: “Help with my project” Try: “Why is the conference room heating load so high?”

Include relevant details:

  • Space or system names
  • What you’ve already tried
  • What outcome you expect

For important information:

  • Cross-reference with documentation
  • Check against standards
  • Consult with colleagues
