3D Visualization

HVAKR’s 3D visualization provides an interactive view of your building model, helping you understand spatial relationships and verify your design.

Navigate to the 3D view:

  1. Open your project
  2. Click 3D in the navigation
  3. The 3D model loads automatically

For best performance:

  • Modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Hardware graphics acceleration enabled
  • Sufficient memory for large models

Toggle visibility of different elements:

  • Spaces - Show/hide space volumes
  • Walls - Show/hide envelope
  • Windows - Show/hide glazing
  • Roof - Show/hide roof plane
  • Ductwork - Show/hide ducts
  • Equipment - Show/hide units
  • Registers - Show/hide diffusers
  • Floor plans - Show background drawings
  • Grid - Show reference grid
  • Labels - Show space names

Opaque surfaces with shading:

  • Best for overall visualization
  • Shows shadow effects
  • Standard default view

See-through surfaces:

  • View interior elements
  • Check for conflicts
  • Understand relationships

Edges only:

  • Lightest rendering
  • See all geometry
  • Good for checking alignment

Color spaces by function:

  • Office, conference, corridor, etc.
  • Quick identification
  • Matches legend

Color by HVAC system:

  • See zone assignments
  • Identify coverage
  • Verify system boundaries

Color by cooling load:

  • Heat map visualization
  • Identify high-load areas
  • Gradient from low to high

Click on elements to see properties:

  • Space name and type
  • Area and volume
  • Assigned loads
  • HVAC assignments

Measure distances in 3D:

  • Click two points
  • See distance displayed
  • Verify dimensions

For complex buildings:

  • Hide unnecessary layers
  • Use wireframe mode
  • Close other browser tabs

For better interaction:

  • Start with simpler view
  • Add layers as needed
  • Use preset views

Capture the current view:

  • PNG image format
  • Includes visible layers
  • Current camera angle

Generate a shareable link:

  • Others can view without login
  • Read-only access
  • Current view state preserved
